The mirrorschach series takes the ten principal "inkblot" shapes of the original set of the Rorschach inkblot test and renders them as mirrors. The series was developed for the exhibition Convergation as a way to address the larger cultural narrative of symmetry.
The Rorschach test is today mostly used as a supplement to psychiatric evaluation in parental custody cases, but has been widely used in the past as a diagnostic tool. It famously uses seemingly random shapes which trigger associations by their bilateral symmetry.
