The Dysco series is an excavation of photographic space.
The series consists of large photographic C-prints showing empty nightclub interiors cut through with shapes and patterns.
The cutout silhouette collages are composed to form vortexes, amplifying the vanishing point of the photo.
The prints are mounted on clear acrylic panels. The cutouts create mesmerising shadow patterns and reveal the wall behind the image.
There is only surface to photographs, of course. But the mystery of depth, all kinds of depth, still flicker just under that perfect photographic surface. Dysco heightens that flicker to access vision’s power of trance, all the while cherishing the image body: paper.
